Volunteers
The Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) is responsible for making sure that all of our volunteers are registered and Safe Haven certified. We would like to thank all the Coaches, Referees, Team Managers, and Parent Volunteers for taking the time to enrich our children’s lives. Your efforts are vital to the success of our program.
AYSO REGION 820 HAS SEVERAL BOARD AND STAFF OPENINGS!
We are seeking volunteers who will give freely of their time and efforts to build this program according to the AYSO guiding Philosophies and processes. Without volunteer involvement, effort, and support, this program would not be possible.
Remember that AYSO runs on VOLUNTEER POWER! All of our coaches, referees, board members, and staff are volunteers freely giving of their time. All families will be asked to pitch in and help out just a little. If everyone helps out just a little, the season will run smoothly and the players will have a fantastic experience!
If at any point in the season you have any general questions, please visit our website for updates and use the Contact Us link to send your questions. If you have specific concerns, I can be contacted at ayso820rc@gmail.com and will do my best to respond in a timely manner. When necessary, I will forward your concerns to the appropriate volunteer for handling. Thanks and have a great season!

Registration
AYSO requires all volunteers to register with the National Office every season. This is a necessary process to protect all our volunteers and children participating in AYSO. Our parents and children need to know that they are in a FUN and SAFE environment.
New and Non-registered Volunteers
The best way for new volunteers to register is online. Please go to www.eayso.org. Click on the “First Time” button and follow the directions. This is the best way to insure that all pertinent information is entered on your volunteer form. Any sensitive information entered is protected. You will need to print 2 copies of your volunteer form. One copy will stay with our Region and the other copy will go to National. Bring both signed copies and a valid form of identification (Driver’s license or State ID) to a player registration day, Coach/Referee clinic or to the board tent during games. Blank volunteer forms are available.
Previous season volunteers
If you were a registered volunteered the previous season, we supply pre-printed volunteer forms at player registration days and Coach/Referee clinics. You will still need to answer the 2 disclosure questions and sign the form.
AYSO ID Numbers
Your AYSO ID number holds a record of all AYSO certifications that you have completed. It can be used to pre-register online for upcoming Coach and Referee clinics at www.eayso.org . You can also take online training classes at www.soccer.org . When you complete a training course online, it automatically updates to your AYSO ID number as a certification.
SAFE HAVEN
Every volunteer must be Safe Haven Certified. Safe Haven is a child and volunteer protection program that was the first of its kind in youth sports. The child protection aspect is intended to stop child abuse, educate or remove its perpetrators, and screen out predators before they get into the program. It includes proactive steps which provide a medium for positive, healthy child development, precluding the outbreak of child abuse in a weak, unfocused, nonempowering environment. If you would like to learn more about this program, please go to: http://soccer.org/Programs/SafeHaven
If you have any questions, please email the CPVA.
