REGISTRATION FOR THE
FALL 2010 SEASON
IS STILL OPEN!
AYSO Region 820 accepts any and all children, both boys and girls, from ages 4 through 18. As long as we have openings, we will continue to accept registrations until the fifth game. Since our region is run entirely by volunteers, the number of players we can accept is only limited by the number of volunteers. We will do our best to accept as many children as possible, but that can only happen with your help. Volunteer now!
PRE-REGISTER!
Online registration saves us a ton of data entry time. If you do not have access to a computer, public libraries offer free access.
Whether your child is new to AYSO or is a returning player, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER! You will need to complete these three steps:
1. Go to
www.eayso.org and follow the directions to pre-register;
2. Print and sign two copies of each player's registration form via the "Print Form" link. Note: If you do not see a printer icon next to your child's name, YOU ARE NOT DONE!
3. For each child, mail the following documents to AYSO Region 820, P.O. Box 179, Sun City, California, 92586:
a) two copies of the registration form signed by the parent or legal guardian;
b) proof of age (original or certified copy of birth certificate);
c) the appropriate fee (see below) by cash, check or money order made payable to AYSO 820.
Pre-registering online is only the FIRST STEP for registration but, by itself, doesn't get your child on a team. You need to finish the process by printing the form, signing it, and submitting it along with the necessary documents and fees!
REGISTRATION FEES
May 16, 2010 through the end of Registration: $110.00
Registration fees apply to the first, second, and third siblings. Fees for fourth, fifth, etc., same-house siblings are $20.00 each.
All fees must be paid in cash, or by check or money order payable to AYSO 820. We do not offer credit card services. If your check is returned for Insufficient Funds, your child’s registration will be held in abeyance until you have made payment, in cash or with a money order, of the appropriate registration fees, reimbursement of the bank’s fee, up to but not exceeding the actual fee (approximately $7.00), plus an additional service charge of $15.00. If there is an opening and your registration is complete, your child will then be placed on a team; if not, he/she will be added to the bottom of the Waiting List - regardless of when registration was first attempted.
EVALUATIONS
There will be no more evaluation dates. Late registrants will be placed on teams with openings as fairly as possible based on age and experience.

MAIL-IN REGISTRATIONS
PLAYERS REGISTERING BY MAIL WILL BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST, ARE SUBJECT TO SPACE AVAILABILITY, AND ARE NOT ASSURED TEAM PLACEMENT! SUBMITTING A MAIL-IN OR LATE REGISTRATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A PLACE ON A TEAM. WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO REGISTER EARLY!
If you choose to submit your paperwork by mail, you must still pre-register online. Then print and mail two signed copies of each player’s registration, along with proof of age and full payment to:
AYSO Region 820
P.O. Box 179
Sun City, California 92586
Mail-In Registrations received without proper documentation, proof of age, or full payment, will be returned unprocessed. Documents that are unsigned or appear to have been altered may also be returned.
If we are able to place your child on a team, you may be notified as late as the first game. We will not process your payment unless we can place your child. If not, your payment will be returned to you.
WAITING LIST POLICY
Although it is our desire to include every child who wishes to play soccer, as a practical matter registration is only available on a first come, first served, basis. The number of available volunteers (staff, coaches, referees, managers), practice fields, and/or playing fields may limit registration within any division. Once a division has been filled, a Waiting List is created from which players may be placed on a team (when another player drops or additional coaches are secured).
If you submit your child's registration paperwork after the registration cut-off date of May 31st, your child will be placed on the Waiting List. If and when an opening occurs, we will fill the vacancy with the first age-appropriate player on the Waiting List. There are no guarantees that your child will be placed on a team. We will do our best to place your child without disrupting our "Team Balancing" philosophy.
PAIRING BUDDIES AND SIBLINGS
If you have siblings (two or more) of the same gender (we do not have any co-ed teams) in the same age division (no child may play down), you may request that they be assigned to the same team.
Any child in the U06 Division (ages 4 and 5) may request to be placed on a team with a buddy. No other requests for buddy pairings will be considered.
Random team assignment, coupled with player ratings, is the only way to assure balanced teams. Reasons such as babysitters, carpool needs, practice days or location, coach likes or dislikes, and a host of other issues, are insufficient reasons to support team assignment.
REFUND POLICY
Children who decide they do not wish to play by May 31st (after registration, but before teams are formed), may request a refund of registration fees, less our $15.00 per player fee.
Requests submitted after May 31st (after teams have been formed), but before August 7th (Opening Day) may request a refund of registration fees paid, less the $15.00 per player fee and any other fees paid by Region 820 (insurance, uniform). You will not be charged for the uniform if it is returned in like-new condition.
No refunds will be issued after August 7th except for the following reasons:
a) the child is injured and unable to play (doctor's note required);
b) the child has moved out of the area.
All such refunds will be subject to reduction by the $15.00 fee and any other fees paid by Region 820 (insurance, uniform, photographs, medals/trophies).
All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing, by U.S. mail to AYSO 820, P.O. Box 179, Sun City, California, 92586, or by E-mail to
registrar@ayso820.org. Telephonic requests will not be accepted.
Please provide the player's name and date of birth, advise us of the name of the parent we should make the check payable to, and the address to where the check should be mailed. Include your telephone number in case the AYSO Registrar or Treasurer needs to contact you.
ALL REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED MINUS A $15.00 FEE AND ANY OTHER FEES PAID BY REGION 820. ALL REQUESTS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY THE CUTOFF DATES - NO EXCEPTIONS!

VIP DIVISION
It is our hope this year to once again be able to offer an adapted soccer program for players with disabilities called VIP - Very Important Players!
Players four years of age and older who have a disability that would make it difficult for them to play successfully on a mainstream team will have an opportunity to play soccer at their own level. There is no upper age limit, and registration is only $25.00. Teams will be formed based on size, ability levels, and ages.
VIP teams are not limited to ambulatory players. Players using wheelchairs, walkers, and other assisting devices are welcome. AYSO operates with the philosophy that "everyone plays," meaning that every player must play at least half of every game. The VIP program expands that philosophy to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to play soccer.
Practices may be held on weeknights with Saturday games, or may be held back-to-back, with each session including the learning of soccer skills followed by a soccer game.
Coaches and VIP Buddies are needed for the program to be successful. Anyone 12 years of age and older can volunteer as a VIP Buddy! No prior experience is necessary. Community Service credits are available.
COACHES AND REFEREES
We always need more coaches and referees each season. The more assistance offered, the more children that can play in a fun, fair, and safe environment!
We offer comprehensive training for coaches and referees at all levels. We will provide you with the laws of the game and basic knowledge to develop soccer skills. All we ask from you is a small time commitment. Clinics and camps are also available for more advanced training.
Whether you are new to AYSO or are a returning volunteer, you must re-register each year. You will need to complete these three steps:
2. Print and sign two copies of your Volunteer Agreement;
3. Bring your signed Volunteer Agreement to any Walk-In Registration along with current ID.
AYSO is totally dependent on volunteers, and we are always looking for good people to help in the areas of Coaching, Refereeing, Team Management, Field Maintenance, Board Members, and various staff and coordinating positions. Be sure to stop at our volunteer table and ask how you can help!
OTHER ITEMS YOU WILL NEED
a) Shoes - may be tennis shoes or cleats (recommended). NO METAL CLEATS. Baseball cleats (with a toe cleat) are not recommended. A toe cleat is a single cleat in the front middle of the shoe, and may be considered a safety violation;
b) Shin guards - MANDATORY for all practices and all games. Must be worn INSIDE the socks;
c) Water bottle and sunscreen (recommended);
d) Practice ball (recommended) - Size 3 for Divisions U06 and U08; Size 4 for Divisions U10 and U12; Size 5 for Divisions U14, U16, and U19;
e) All the support you can muster!
CALENDAR ITEMS,
PRACTICES, & GAME SCHEDULES
In most cases, your coach will decide when and where to hold practices. Typically, there are two practices each week. Our region utilizes just about every park and school campus in Menifee. Game schedules will not be created until we know how many teams we will have in each division - some time around the middle of June.
2010 CALENDAR - coming soon!
Please do not contact us to ask about your child's team or coach until after August 7th. We usually have over 1,350 players, and many coaches go on summer vacation or back out at the last minute. Please give us time to contact everyone. If you have not heard from your coach by August 7th, please email the Registrar.
If you have a change in address or phone number at any time after registration, please contact the Registrar to update your records (both players and volunteers).
THANKS FOR PLAYING,
AND HAVE A GREAT SEASON!
